Hamlyn Symposium

This Symposium, the 5th of its kind, is organised by the Hamlyn Centre at Imperial College, London and attracts world-leading scientists, engineers and clinicians from a wide range of disciplines associated with medical robotics, technology and surgery.

The symposium, which takes place at the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington, will include the following:

  • A series of invited talks by distinguished speakers
  • Panel debate on breakthrough medical robotics & instrumentation
  • Oral / poster presentations on a wide range of clinical & technical topics
  • An international audience from leading research organisations & universities in medical robotics
  • Annual internation forum for clinicians, engineers & researchers

Detailed highlights include (but are not limited to):

  1. Clinical highlights in urology, cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, general surgery, gynaecology, ENT, orthopaedics and paediatric surgery
  2. Emerging, multi-specialty applications of robotic technology
  3. Medical robotics for NOTES

  6. Surgical simulation, training and skills assessment
  7. Human-robot interaction and ergonomics
