What to expect
Urology training in the East Midlands is broad and varied. All units offer a wide exposure to different sub-specialty teams. SpR training days are arranged across the region and with adjoining regions.
Mr Richard Parkinson, Consultant at Nottingham University Hospital, is currently the regional SpR teaching co-ordinator.
Out-of-Programme Experience
This is encouraged and urology SpRs from the region have spent valuable time with units in Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka and the USA.
Fellowships
An active fellowship programme in Female Urology has been running in Leicester for three years. Leicester has also jointly run an Andrology Fellowship with University College Hospital, London.
