What to expect
The South West region units offer excellent general urological training in several highly-regarded units. The training programme provides intensive monthly teaching days, comprising a rolling programme on all topics relevant to the FRCS (Urol) curriculum, presented by trainees and trainers. The twice-yearly South West Urology Group (SWUG) meetings include training and audit. Trainers provide additional input including viva practice. Teaching ward rounds are held.
Clinical audit is expected, including participation in BAUS audits, as are individual projects aimed for presentation at regional and national meetings.
Research projects are also encouraged.
