The Section of Endourology set up the laparoscopic nephrectomy audit in July 2001 and this was combined with the Section of Oncology nephrectomy dataset in January 2009.
In June 2009, the BAUS web-based database was launched. This is now well-established with many members successfully entering data into the nephrectomy audit. All historical data has been imported into the new system.
Submission of data
The only method for returning data for the laparoscopic nephrectomy registry is via the BAUS data and audit system. No paper returns and no extracts from the old Access databases are now accepted.
Any paper forms submitted to Sarah Fowler or the BAUS office will be returned to sender.
Members can collect data using their own in-house systems and bulk-import data to the BAUS data and audit system. Click here for file and import guidance which includes the format and content allowed for each field of the web-based datasets.
