Braasch Cystoscope

Braasch Cystoscope

This instrument is from the Leicester collection.

As far as I can tell, it is a Braasch direct catheterising cystoscope.

First designed by William F Braasch, an American urologist, in 1904. A later model incorporated a telescope and was therefore termed "indirect".

Braasch Cystoscope

Braasch worked at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

This was a modification of the Lewis and Elsner air cystoscope and could be used with either air or water.
