Ringleb Cystoscope

		"If good instruments do go to heaven, Ringleb’s newly improved scope, introduced in 1908, surely is resting peacefully. The outstanding amount of improvements and problems that this singular instrument solved is simply stunning." This quote is taken from Nehatz's History of Endoscopy and reflects the great innovations that Ringleb's instruments gave to urology.
		In 1908, Ringleb created an entirely new optical system which corrected the inverted image, improved the resolution of the image and increased the angle of view by making it larger, as well as giving it more light by increasing the diameter of the pupil. Ringleb’s cystoscopes were still on the market until the 1960s.

		These cystoscopes are from the Leicester Collection and are slightly different, probably representing different ages.
