Nephroscopes

	Storz Nephroscope Nephrostomy for removal of stones became more popular in the 1970's.
	The end is angled to allow views of the calyces.
	Initially, the procedure was open and the kidney mobilised.
	The nephroscope here is fitted with a flexible instrument guide to allow attachments such as biopsy forceps or electrodes to be used.
	The large black disc over the eyepiece is to protect the open wound from contamination by the surgeon's face as the eye was held against the nephroscope.
