Remote Healthcare Consultations

Information for clinicians & patients

One unexpected change resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has been the dramatic (and necessary) reduction in face-to-face consultations between hospital staff and patients.

This has, in many hospitals, resulted in a transition to widespread teleconsulting, not just for follow-up, but for most patient-clinician interactions.

This form of communication is something for which most hospital staff have received little or no formal training, and with which patients are generally not familiar. BAUS has, therefore, posted some short videos to help both groups with the process of teleconsultation.

Click here to view two videos for clinicians (requires BAUS member login) or here for a patient video which explains how teleconsultations will work.
