Personal Statement
Professor Prabhakar Rajan studied medicine at Cambridge University, and completed his surgery and urology training in Scotland where he specialised in retroperitoneal surgery for renal and testicular cancers. After learning robotic prostatectomy with the pioneers in Stockholm, Sweden, he moved to London in 2015 and currently works at Barts Health and UCLH NHS Trusts. He completed his doctoral studies at Newcastle University, and undertook post-doctoral research at the Beatson Institute in Glasgow. He is Professor of Urology and Robotic Surgery at Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, where he leads a laboratory research programme and trials portfolio.
