We have now published the results of radical prostatectomy for surgery performed during 2017, 2018 and 2019.  Details of the number of operations, by technique, performed by each surgeon and centre during the time period are given, with information about transfusion rates, post-operative complications and length of stay (LOS) for individual surgeons and units.

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of all the information contained in this section, BAUS does not accept any liability arising from any errors or omissions, or the use of, or reliance on, the information contained in this website; we reserve the right to change the information and descriptions as and when required.

In looking at these data, it is important to bear in mind that variations in the data between individual surgeons and units may be a reflection of case complexity or patient factors.  In addition, we are aware that not all surgeons have supplied complete data; in particular, a number of surgeons may not have entered complication data.  We strongly recommend, therefore, that individual patients discuss the likely outcomes of radical prostatectomy with their urologist before any operation. This will help them understand the expected outcome of this complex procedure and will take into account factors relevant to their particular case.

It is also important to note that as a result of the COVID-19 crisis some surgeons and units may have been unable to submit all or any of their 2019 data.
