Educational Lead for Foundation & Core Trainees

Applications are invited from Consultant Urologists for the post of Educational Lead for Foundation and Core Trainees, a key role within the BAUS Education Committee (BEC).
The remit of BEC is to develop and coordinate the Association’s educational support for urology Consultants and trainees, medical students interested in a career in urology and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of urological patients.
The Educational Lead for Foundation and Core Trainees organises and delivers the annual, four-day, Core Urology Course and the annual Audit/QuIP competition, produces a biannual newsletter, oversees the production of essential audit frameworks, and supports/encourages FY & CT doctors in the development of their urological careers.
There are two other Educational Leads - Toby Page for Medical Students, and Owen Hughes for Speciality Registrars (and Consultants) - who are also members of the BEC.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant for this role will have experience of undergraduate and early postgraduate urological education as an RCS Tutor, or be a member of the Urology Specialist Training Committee and/or Educational supervisor. Applicants are likely to have previous experience of supporting BAUS educational initiatives e.g. courses held at the BAUS Annual Meeting, revision courses or the Core Urology Course, and/or may have gained experience of education via the surgical Royal Colleges.
