A Taster Week in South Wales

The aim of BAUS Education Committee is to attract the best doctors to our specialty, and to help to train them to the highest standard, so that we can deliver the best possible patient care.

Sometimes, exposure to urology at medical school is limited: one way of allowing junior doctors to experience our diverse and progressive specialty is by way of a “taster week”.

In the short video below, Francis De Castro describes such a week spent with Consultant Urological Surgeon Adam Cox in the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.

If you are a Consultant Urologist, please consider how you might organise something similar locally. If you are a junior doctor (or medical student), and are looking for a taster week, please contact your nearest Local Medical School Champion
