HES data indicates 103 PCNL procedures were undertaken in 2013. The clinicians in this Trust have advised us that they undertook a total of 106 PCNLs during 2014 but due to lack of support for data entry to national audits only one of the three surgeons has been able to enter his data and he was only able to comply by doing this outside of his working hours. This surgeon is a member of the BAUS Section of Endourology Executive and so would clearly be under pressure to enter data despite the constraints encountered at his Trust. We are also aware that clinicians are unable to access the new BAUS data and audit platform from their hospital computers as their IT department seems to be unable or unwilling to install up to date browsers on their computers. The other two surgeons undertaking PCNLs at UCLH in 2014 were Mr T Philp and Mr S Choong although we understand Mr Philp has now retired.
