Rob Calvert is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal LIverpool Hospital and Deputy Vice President Education. He was elected to the Chair of the BAUS Audit Committee in 2024.

Louisa Hermans (BAUS Head of Education)

Email Louisa

Louisa was appointed Head of Education for BAUS in 2025, and works in the London offices. She collated the data for the now discontinued BAUS Clinical Registries (with Sarah Fowler) and then co-ordinated the move into the National Clinical Information Programme which collects and analyses clinical audit data, for all surgeons, on a nationwide basis. She is also responsible for the administration and assessment of the BAUS Snapshot Audits.

Bushra Abdelqader (Member)

Bushra is a Specialist Urological Trainee at St George's Hospital (London South Deanery). She was elected Vice Chair of the BAUS Section of Trainees' Executive Committee in January 2024, and took over as Chair of the committee in June 2025.

Magda Kujawa (Member)

Magda is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport and joinedthe Executive Committee of the Section of Functional & Reconstructive Urology in 2021. She took over the role of Secretary to the committee with effect from January 2025.

John McGrath (Member)

John is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at North Bristol NHS Trust. He is chair of the NHS England Robotically-Assisted Surgery (RAS) Steering Committee and leads the task of producing national guidance for the adoption of robotic surgery in the NHS in England. Previously, he was joint leader of the GIRFT Urology project with former BAUS President, Kieran O'Flynn.

Edward Rowe (Member)

Ed is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at North Bristol Hospitals NHS Trust. With a specialist interest in prostate, bladder, kidney and penile cancer, he works as part of one of the busiest UK uro-oncolgy team. He is the urology cancer lead, and works to develop robotic prostate and bladder surgery.

Daron Smith (Member)

Daron has been a Consultant Urological Surgeon, and self-styled "Endoluminal Endourologist", at the stone and endourology unit of University College London Hospital since 2009. He has many research interests, mostly related to the diagnosis and management of stone disease.

Maxine Tran (Member)

Maxine was appointed Honorary Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Free and Senior Lecturer in Kidney Cancer at University College London (UCL) in 2015; and was promoted to Professor of Urology in 2022.  She has a PhD from UCL and has led the development of the kidney cancer research department, focused on improving the understanding, diagnosis and treatment outcomes in early stage kidney cancer.
