Louisa Hermans (BAUS Head of Education)

Louisa was appointed Head of Education for BAUS in 2025, and works in the London offices. She collated the data for the now discontinued BAUS Clinical Registries (with Sarah Fowler) and then co-ordinated the move into the National Clinical Information Programme which collects and analyses clinical audit data, for all surgeons, on a nationwide basis. She is also responsible for the administration and assessment of the BAUS Snapshot Audits.

John is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at North Bristol NHS Trust. He is chair of the NHS England Robotically-Assisted Surgery (RAS) Steering Committee and leads the task of producing national guidance for the adoption of robotic surgery in the NHS in England. Previously, he was joint leader of the GIRFT Urology project with former BAUS President, Kieran O'Flynn.

With a specialist interest in prostate, bladder, kidney and penile cancer, he works as part of one of the busiest UK uro-oncolgy team. He is the urology cancer lead, and works to develop robotic prostate and bladder surgery.

Maxine was appointed Honorary Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Free and Senior Lecturer in Kidney Cancer at University College London (UCL) in 2015; and was promoted to Professor of Urology in 2022. She has a PhD from UCL and has led the development of the kidney cancer research department, focused on improving the understanding, diagnosis and treatment outcomes in early stage kidney cancer.
