BAUS Section of Trainees (BSoT)

BSoT (formerly SURG) provides a forum for members training in the UK and Ireland to discuss and express opinion about training issues arising on a Regional or National level.

Issues that will affect trainees and Consultant Urologists within the NHS are debated, and these opinions will be put forward on behalf of members by the Executive Committee. BSoT also represents urological trainees at relevant national meetings including the SAC, ASiT and ESRU, as well as on BAUS Council.

Bushra Abdelqader (Chair)

Bushra is a specialist urological trainee at St George's Hospital, London.  She was originally elected to the role of Vice Chair in January 2024 and took over as Chair in June 2025.

Kelly Ong (Vice Chair)

Kelly is a specialist urological trainee in the London North deanery. She joined the committee as Core Training Liaison Representative in February 2024, and was elected Vice Chair in 2025.
