Commences 05 October 2022 for 12 months

Department: The Stone Unit, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust, London

Now in its fifth year, the Guy's Stone Fellowship gives a post-CCT/senior trainee the opportunity to further develop their skills in endourology and stone management.

The stone fellow will operate at least three days per week in the dedicated endourology theatre, performing rigid and flexible ureteroscopy and PCNL (prone, supine/combined and mini). There is the opportunity to train in lithotripsy and paediatric stone management, and to attend the cystinuria clinic. There is a twice-monthly stone MDM for discussion of complex cases.

The fellow takes part in the middle-grade on-call rota and registrar of the week (both one in thirteen), plus a weekly One Stop Urology clinic. There is high quality weekly teaching for the whole urology department on a Friday morning, between 08:00 & 09:00, to which all Consultants and trainees contribute.

There is much opportunity for participation in research, audit and quality improvement.
