Department: Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital

The Guy's Andrology Service is well established, providing a highly specialist tertiary referral service covering all aspects of surgical andrology, male infertility and genitourethral reconstruction. Guy’s is the site of the South London Andrology Prosthesis Centre, one the highest volume penile implant centres in London, where Teams from King’s College Hospital, Imperial, and Oxford come to do their penile Implant Surgery. We manage patients with refractory erectile dysfunction and complex Peyronie’s disease, and run an emergency regional implant service for refractory priapism. Our team also provides a SouthEast London regional emergency service for all other aspects of andrological care. Patients are managed in specialist andrology clinics, which include a dedicated andrology MDT with uro-radiological support. We provide a tertiary referral service for male infertility. The successful applicant will join multidisciplinary clinics run with the Guy’s Assisted Conception Unit, one of the leading innovators in the field of infertility and the largest and most successful clinic in the UK for preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). We provide an advanced microsurgical service for severe male factor infertility, including the largest microTESE and onco-microTESE service south of the Thames. Our tertiary urethral stricture disease service manages complex anterior urethral stricture disease, including a hypospadias service, and surgery for pan-urethral strictures, with dedicated specialist urethral clinics and MDT. Our urethral service also supports the Paediatric Urologists at The Evelina Hospital in managing urethral strictures, and colleagues in the Young Onset Urology (YOU) Team, who provide lifelong care for patients who have been treated for paediatric urological conditions. The Andrology team runs supra-regional Joint Sickle Cell/ Urology clinic in conjunction with the Haematology department for patients with recurrent ischaemic priapism. Monthly ‘virtual’ clinics are also held with the Genitourinary Medicine department for patients with complex genital disorders.
