Executive Committee

The Section of Andrology was first formed in 2003. It has now expanded to include urologists carrying out genito-urethral reconstruction (e.g. for urethral strictures) and, as a result, changed its name to the Section of Andrology & Genito-Urethral Surgery in June 2009.

ELECTED OFFICERS

Rowland Rees (Chair)

Rowland is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton and was elected Chair in 2018. He provides a tertiary andrology service for the Wessex region, and specialises in surgery for urethral strictures, male incontinence, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, male fertility and penile cancer

Majid Shabbir (Honorary Secretary)

Majid is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital, London. He joined the team in 2014 and was elected Honorary Secretary in 2018. He specialises in genital reconstruction (including surgical treatment of Peyronie’s disease), priapism, erectile dysfunction (including penile prosthesis surgery), urethroplasty, male factor infertility & genital malignancies

Gareth Brown (Member: 2017 to 2019)

Gareth is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at The Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Wales and was elected to the team in 2017. He provides a tertiary andrology service for the South Wales region, and is actively involved in multi-disciplinary oncology. being the surgical lead for penile cancer in South East Wales

Trevor Dorkin (Member: 2017 to 2019)

Trevor is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne and joined the team in 2017. He gained experience in reconstructive surgery, and especially management of complex urethral strictures, while working in India and Sydney, Australia

Odunayo Kalejaiye (Member: 2019 to 2021)

Ayo is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Birmingham and joined the team in 2019, having trained with David Ralph at University College Hospital London.

Marc Lucky (Member: 2016 to 2018)

Marc is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool and joined the team in 2016. He is one of only a few urologists in the North West specialising in andrology and he has specialist expertise in managing male infertility

Arie Parnham (Member: 2018 to 2020)

Arie is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at The Christie (Manchester) and Wirral University Teaching Hospital; he joined the team in 2018. He provides a tertiary referral service for genital malignancies and complex andrological conditions from across the North West of England and North Wales

Richard Pearcy (Member: 2017 to 2019)

Richard is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth and joined the team in 2017. Having trained in the andrology unit at UCLH, he now specialises in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, infertility, penile skin disorders and penile cancer

Ayman Younis (Member: 2019 to 2021)

Ayman is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at ABM University Health Board in Swansea and Neath/Port Talbot, and joined the team in 2018. Ayman specialises in urethral stricture disease, erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism (low testosterone), Peyronie's disease, infertility, and incontinence. He also provides a collaborative tertiary peno-urethral reconstruction service to the patients of South Wales

Sarah Fowler (BAUS Audit Co-ordinator)

Sarah is the BAUS Data & Audit manager. She oversees all the BAUS andrology & cancer databases, and is responsible for the production of Surgical Outcomes Data (part of the Consultant Outcomes Project)

Patrick Gordon (BSoT Representative: 2019)

Patrick is an ST6 in the South Yorkshire Deanery, currently based in Sheffield. He joined the team in 2019 and represents the BAUS Section of Trainees (BSoT - formerly known as the Specialist Urological Registrars' Group, SURG) on the Committee. In addition to training in andrology & infertilty, he also has a special interest in spinal cord Injury

Asif Muneer (BAUS Trustee)

Asif is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the University College Hospital, London and was Section Chair from 2015 to 2017. He is an expert in managing erectile dysfunction (including penile prosthesis surgery), penile cancer, Peyronie's disease and male factor infertility using microsurgical techniques. He is BAUS Secretary Elect and a BAUS Trustee
