Executive Committee

The Section of Andrology was first formed in 2003. It has now expanded to include urologists carrying out genito-urethral reconstruction (e.g. for urethral strictures) and, as a result, changed its name to the Section of Andrology & Genito-Urethral Surgery in June 2009.

ELECTED OFFICERS

Majid Shabbir (Chair)

Majid is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital, London. He joined the team in 2014 and was elected Honorary Secretary in 2018 before being elected to Chair from 2020.   He specialises in genital reconstruction (including surgical treatment of Peyronie’s disease), priapism, erectile dysfunction (including penile prosthesis surgery), urethroplasty, male factor infertility & genital malignancies

Marc Lucky (Secretary)

Marc is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool and joined the team in 2016.  He was elected to Secretary from 2020.  Marc is one of only a few urologists in the North West specialising in andrology and he has specialist expertise in managing male infertility.

Trevor Dorkin (Member: 2017 to 2019, 2020-2021)

Trevor is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne and joined the team in 2017. He gained experience in reconstructive surgery, and especially management of complex urethral strictures, while working in India and Sydney, Australia

Odunayo Kalejaiye (Member: 2019 to 2021)

Ayo is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Birmingham and joined the team in 2019, having trained with David Ralph at University College Hospital London.

Arie Parnham (Member: 2018 to 2020)

Arie is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at The Christie (Manchester) and Wirral University Teaching Hospital; he joined the team in 2018. He provides a tertiary referral service for genital malignancies and complex andrological conditions from across the North West of England and North Wales

Richard Pearcy (Member: 2017 to 2019, 2020 to 2021)

Richard is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth and joined the team in 2017. Having trained in the andrology unit at UCLH, he now specialises in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, infertility, penile skin disorders and penile cancer

Vaibhav Modgil (Member: 2020 to 2022)

Vaibhav is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist at the Manchester Andrology Centre, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He joined the team in 2019 having undertaken further specialist training in Andrology in Australia and London (UCLH). He provides a high volume tertiary referral service for complex andrological conditions such as Erectile dysfunction (including penile prosthesis surgery), Peyronie’s disease and infertility. He is also a member of the European Association of Urologists (EAU) Male Reproductive and Sexual Health guideline group and the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM) young researchers and clinicians committee.

Sarah Fowler (BAUS Audit Co-ordinator)

Sarah is the BAUS Data & Audit manager. She oversees all the BAUS andrology & cancer databases, and is responsible for the production of Surgical Outcomes Data (part of the Consultant Outcomes Project)

Patrick Gordon (BSoT Representative: 2019)

Patrick is an ST6 in the South Yorkshire Deanery, currently based in Sheffield. He joined the team in 2019 and represents the BAUS Section of Trainees (BSoT - formerly known as the Specialist Urological Registrars' Group, SURG) on the Committee. In addition to training in andrology & infertilty, he also has a special interest in spinal cord Injury

Ian Pearce (BAUS Trustee)

Ian Pearce is a Professor of Urology at Manchester Royal Infirmary. He held the post of Hon Treasurer before being appointed Honorary Secretary Elect in June 2019 for a two-year period. He is the current Executive Editor of the Journal of Clinical Urology.
