The Royal College of Psychiatrists published new guidelines for the assessment and treatment of adults with gender dysphoria on 25 October 2013.

The best practice guidelines working group included representation from psychiatry, endocrinology, gynaecology, urology, general practice, nursing, psychology, psychotherapy and speech & language therapy, as well as representation from patient groups. It is the first time that so many different groups (13 in all) have come together to agree a common set of guidelines.

CR181: Good practice guidelines for the assessment and treatment of adults with gender dysphoria.

Please note: although you can download, save or print a copy of these guidelines for unlimited use, a printed version is NOT available from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
