The 1985 Punch Club was hosted by John MacDougall in Wolverhampton.
Club members were welcomed by John and his wife to their home in Albrighton. Their house was dominated by a variety dogs, most of which they had bred. **
The scientific meeting was held in the South Staffordshire Medical Centre at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhamptton. No details of individual talks are available but there are recollections of one presentation on phaeochromocytoma, and a talk from an anaesthetist about the West Midlands canal system.
The Club dinner was held at the South Staffordshire Medical Centre.
Members were transported on the first afternoon to Ironbridge (see below) where they enjoyed a guided tour of the museum.
Ironbridge Valley of Invention - a UNESCO World Heritage site
** Following his retirement, John MacDougall devoted his time to organising Crufts Dog Show
