John Wickham

A "godfather" of robotic surgery

John Wickham worked at Bart’s and at The Institute of Urology, London. He was a pioneer of PCNL and laparoscopic urology.

He is generally regarded as the "godfather" of robotic urological surgery, having designed the first autonomous TURP robot in the 1980s.
