Wolf Cystoscope

Innovative angled viewing

These exhibits are boxed sets of Wolf cystoscopes from the Leicester collection.

The central telescope fits down the sheath which has a lightbulb on the beak. The lens at the end of the telescope, made by Carll Zeiss, seems to be at 90 degrees; despite this, you can still see through it. The light lead clips on to sheath, as does the 3-way irrigation tap, after the telescope is removed, to allow bladder drainage and washout.
